Russia Used NRA To Give Big Money To Help Trump Win

This evidence finally puts to rest the propaganda that somehow the NRA is a patriotic organization:

The Republicans refused to investigate it, and the House Intelligence Committee Report ignored it.

But one of the biggest stories coming out of Washington this week was confirmation of the role of the National Rifle Association (NRA) in helping Russia funnel massive amounts of money into the Trump campaign in 2016.

Emails recently came to light proving that an NRA official served as conduit between Russia and the Trump campaign, but Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee refused to address this scandal in their incomplete and misleading report.

Feds Say 1,475 Migrant Children Placed in Homes Are Missing

Who knows how many of those children are being abused. This is insane. Government has become totally useless:

Federal officials lost track of nearly 1,500 migrant children last year after a government agency placed the minors in the homes of adult sponsors in communities across the country, according to testimony before a Senate subcommittee Thursday.The Health and Human Services Department has a limited budget to track the welfare of vulnerable unaccompanied minors, and realized that 1,475 children could not be found after making follow-up calls to check on their safety, an agency official said.Federal officials came under fire two years ago after rolling back child protection policies meant for minors fleeing violence in Central America. In a follow-up hearing on Thursday, senators said that the agencies had failed to take full responsibility for their care and had delayed crucial reforms needed to keep them from falling into the hands of human traffickers.

Elizabeth Warren: Trump administration the ‘most corrupt administration ever’

This is the language that we should expect from all Democrats. But the obvious question then is–why aren’t supporting impeachment:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren called President Donald Trump’s administration the “most corrupt administration ever” in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Wednesday.

Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, leveled the accusation after Tapper asked her to comment on a series of controversial remarks made by Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney, whom Trump tapped to also serve as interim director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in November.

AP Poll: 78 Percent Say Public School Teachers Aren’t Paid Enough

A society that treats it’s teachers poorly is one that won’t survive for very long:

Americans overwhelmingly believe teachers don’t make enough money, and half say they’d support paying higher taxes to give educators a raise.

The findings of the new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research come amid recent teacher strikes and other protests over low pay, tough classroom conditions and the amount of money allocated to public schools in several Republican-led states.

Johnston knows Trump very well as a reporter. So his views carry a lot of weight. But it should be clear at this point to everyone who has followed Russiagate closely. The evidence is overwhelming that Donald Trump is controlled by Putin. That makes him worst traitor in American history. He is sabotaging America on behalf of a foreign power. And those Republicans who defend his treason are in complicity. And those Democrats who refuse to impeach are similarly betraying their country by allowing Trump to stay in power:

Let me be very clear and quotable about this. At an absolute minimum, Donald Trump has divided loyalties, and the evidence we already have suggests that Donald Trump is a traitor. In fact, I would say that the evidence we already have, the public materials such as emails for example, strongly indicate that Donald Trump is a traitor. However, I don’t even think he understands what he’s done.

Dick’s Sporting Goods plans to destroy all the assault rifles it pulled off its shelves

Heroic:

Right after the mass shooting at a Florida high school earlier this year, Dick’s Sporting Goods decided to stop selling assault-style weapons at its stores.

Now the nation’s largest sporting goods retailer is going to destroy those guns.
“We are in the process of destroying all firearms and accessories that are no longer for sale as a result of our February 28th policy change,” the company told CNN.
“We are destroying the firearms in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations.”

Unarmed Teen Killed by Police Was ‘Simply Backing His Mom’s Minivan’ Out of Garage, Lawsuit Claims

Here we have another mindless example of an innocent person being blown away for no reason whatsoever. The only difference in this case: he was white. Normally it’s a black person that is shot in cold blood. We’ve seen this too often to draw the obvious conclusion. Law enforcement in America is broken. The training of police (if there is any) is all wrong. Cops are being trained as if they are going to war. Policing is not the same. That also could be the result of police coming from military backgrounds. Whatever it is, there must be change. And is typical with government, there is no one demanding that happen:

The 17-year-old was home alone when officers were called to the red-brick house to check on him after he’d allegedly threatened to harm himself on FaceTime.

…Officer Clayton Jenison allegedly “acted recklessly and deliberately” when he shot 13 times at Albers, who may not have even known police were at his home, according to a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday by his parents. The boy was “simply backing his mom’s minivan out of the family garage,” the complaint alleges.
