FedEx won’t drop the NRA so these companies are dropping FedEx
Despite a massive online campaign and an exodus by other major companies that had previously partnered with the National Rifle Association in various ways, FedEx has stood firm that it will not cut ties with the group. So other companies are cutting ties with the shipping giant.
FedEx put out a statement last week insisting that it would continue to offer a 26 percent shipping discount to members of the National Rifle Association’s Business Alliance, even in the aftermath of the tragic Parkland, Florida mass school shooting. Moreover, it defended the special price for those who align themselves with the NRA, suggesting that it would be discrimination to make them pay full price.
…On Tuesday, ThinkProgress exclusively reported that FedEx also has a secret deal with the NRA and the gun industry to bend its own rules on gun shipments. “Some customers have been approved for an exception to ship firearms with a 2-day (AM or PM) service,” a confidential internal document revealed. Those customers included 86 firearms manufacturers and dealers, including Smith & Wesson, Colt, Glock, SIG Sauer, and the National Rifle Association itself.

AP FACT CHECK: Trump twists visa lottery program
President Donald Trump is expressing frustration with an immigration program that he says lets other countries nominate undesirable citizens for emigration to the U.S. That path to a life in the U.S. does not exist.
Trump mischaracterizes the diversity visa lottery program regularly, most recently on Fox News on the weekend and most prominently in his State of the Union speech last month. The only accurate part of his account tends to be that a lottery is involved and that the program is not based primarily on the skills of immigrants. Other countries have no say in how it operates and the lottery is not as random as he describes.
Dan Rather: The Press Needs to be More Critical of Trump
Dan Rather said it’s important for the press to act as a “truth squad” when covering any presidency, but called it “absolutely imperative” with the Trump administration.
“I think it’s absolutely imperative,” the veteran journalist said in an interview with CNN’s Brian Stelter on Sunday. “Now more than ever is when the press needs to be a kind of truth squad for this and every other president. It’s perhaps more important with President Trump because there are more untruths to set the record straight.
“But if journalists cower — as many in Congress both some Republican and some Democrats are cowering with the NRA – if journalists cower, then how long can we sing ‘we’re the home of the brave’?”

Trump campaign emails photo of Parkland survivor, asks for donations
Pretty disgusting. But that’s what Trump does:
President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign used a photo of a survivor of the Parkland, Florida, shooting in an email Saturday that asks its recipients to donate money to the campaign.
The email contains a photo of 17-year-old Madeleine Wilford in a hospital bed surrounded by her family, Trump and the first lady. The President visited Wilford on February 16, two days after the attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which left 17 dead.
Truth About the Clinton Foundation Is Finally Being Exposed
CF is a giant scam that should have been exposed years ago:
The Clinton Foundation has no valid, tax-exempt authority for any international activities whether for “disaster-relief,” for “fighting HIV/AIDS,” or for “climate change.”
Moreover, the Clinton Foundation is a “public charity,” and as such it must be controlled by an independent, conflict of interest-free board of directors, it cannot be used to promote political campaigns or causes, and it certainly cannot magically transform a near-bankrupt former president and his family into multimillionaires.
That is why it is being investigated. Clinton apologists will demise it is a politically motivated inquiry. And the Clintons have counted on that argument to hoodwink the public. Helped by the mainstream press:
Federal authorities are actively investigating allegations of corruption related to the Clinton Foundation, the charity of Bill and Hillary Clinton, according to a US official briefed on the matter.
The FBI and federal prosecutors are looking into whether donors to the foundation were improperly promised policy favors or special access to Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state in exchange for donations to the charity’s coffers, as well as whether tax-exempt funds were misused, the official said.
The investigation, led by the FBI field office in Little Rock, Arkansas, is being overseen by the US attorney’s office in the state, according to the source.
