How the Democrats got outplayed on Kavanaugh

This is an inexcusable failure on the part of the Democratic Party. How could they fail again after Clarence Thomas? It’s time to abandon a party that refuses to fight for women, African-Americans, and working people:

For all the chaos of the Trump White House, the GOP remains adroit at using the levers of power in our modern political system. Senate Democrats and Republicans are not even playing the same kind of game. The GOP comes to work ready for full-contact boxing while Democrats were setting up for a friendly game of checkers.

Congressman Nunes buried evidence on Russian meddling to protect Trump. I know because I’m on the committee

This is a big deal even though the press isn’t covering it. A Congressman is accusing his colleague of Russian collusion:

No one really expected President Donald Trump, who benefited from Russia’s 2016 election interference, to counter that hostile regime’s active measures: Russia wanted him to win, and when they hacked, he invited them to hack more.

But America should have been able to rely on a united Congress to ensure that our next elections aren’t just as vulnerable if not moreso. Instead, due to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes’ persistent and pernicious obstruction, America has been spectacularly let down.

Just last week, hours before the Republican-led House recessed for six weeks, Nunes broke out his shovel yet again to bury even deeper the evidence of Russian interference, once again demonstrating there’s no distance he won’t go to protect this president.

Karl Rove admits the GOP is toast as long as Trump is president: ‘We’re screwed for now’

No. The GOP is screwed forever:

Karl Rove, the former political strategist for President George W. Bush, told a group of conservatives this week that Republican Party is likely to lose control of the House of Representatives, and that Republicans would not be able to make any further gains as long as President Donald Trump is in office.

The Austin American Statesman reports that Rove said American politics had entered a phase of madness led by Trump that makes it nearly impossible to imagine anything constructive happening in Washington.

U.S. Trade Deficit Continues to Grow Despite Trump Tariffs

The opposite of what was promised is happening. Trade deficits leads directly to job losses in America.

Record imports drove the U.S. trade deficit up for the third straight month in August. The deficit in the trade of goods with China and Mexico hit records.

The Commerce Department said Friday that the trade gap — the difference between what America sells and what it buys abroad — rose to $53.2 billion in August from $50 billion in July. The August reading was the highest since February.

Putin Says He Doesn’t Think Trump Is `Compromised’ as President

Of course you don’t.

Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed his support for U.S. counterpart Donald Trump, denying that he’s been politically compromised by accusations that Russia helped him win the 2016 election.

“I don’t think President Trump is compromised,” Putin told an energy conference in Moscow on Wednesday. “The people elected him, the people voted for him — somebody doesn’t like that, somebody doesn’t want to respect the opinion of American voters.”

New Avenatti Witness Says She Saw Kavanaugh Spike Drinks

Get’s worse by the day for Brett. Now he’s turning out to be another Bill Cosby:

Attorney Michael Avenatti tweeted Tuesday evening that he had a second witness who could testify to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s misconduct in high school, and who could corroborate some of the claims made by his client, Julie Swetnick, who alleged last week that Kavanaugh was present while she was drugged and gang-raped at a party while in high school.

Trump is exposed as the fraud that he is

This NY Times article proves what was suspected about Donald Trump: that is a conman and a fraud:

Remember how then-candidate Donald Trump talked about how the “system is rigged”? He really knew what he was talking about.

In breathtaking detail and with exacting precision, The New York Times has confirmed that for much of his life, though he claimed to be a brilliant businessman, Trump was benefiting from a rigged system, which his family manipulated to transfer enormous wealth from his father to him.

NYT columnist: ‘More outright white nationalists than black people’ in Trump administration

It’s no longer debatable. The President of the United States is a white supremacist:

Responding to reports that yet another appointee in Donald Trump’s administration is a white nationalist, New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg made an only-slightly-hyperbolic reference to the White House’s diversity problem.

In mid-August, former Trump aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman revealed that when she left the White House, she was the only black person “at the table” — and that no African Americans have been hired in her stead.
