Defeat in Texas would guarantee Trump loses the election. All Biden needs to win are Michigan and Pennsylvania, states he is already substantially ahead in. He could lose the swing states of Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nevada, Arizona, N. Carolina and still get 270.
No Democrat has won the state of Texas in a presidential election since 1976:
Former Vice President Joe Biden has regained a narrow lead over President Donald Trump in Texas, after wooing more independents and Hispanics, according to a poll released Sunday by The Dallas Morning News and University of Texas at Tyler.
Biden’s lead among likely voters is 48%-45%, within the poll’s margin of error.
As it stands, the election could be a landslide victory for Biden potentially winning 411 to 125. That would be a larger margin of victory than any of Obama’s two victories in 2008 and 2012.
